How do I get involved?

Attend a practice and meet the team. Please send an email so we know that there will be a guest coming to practice.

What should I expect at practice?

At your first practice you will watch to see how we train the dogs. We begin with very simple tasks for your dog, like jumping a jump and catching a tennis ball. From there we progress. You will meet all the teammates and their dogs. A team member  will stay  with you the first night to answer all your questions and explain everything. You will also get a new member welcome letter that tells you more about the specifics on flyball and how our team operates.

What do I bring to practice?

  • Your dog, a regular collar and leash.
  • Harness for you dog, if you have one.
  • Treats and a favorite toy, ball, or tug toy for rewards.
  • Optional: Kennel, beverage for yourself (dog water and bowls are provided).

How will my dog ever do flyball?

Dogs do not learn to do flyball overnight. In fact, it may take a few months. Training the dogs is done as a team, with no single instructor. We guide you while training and give you plenty of help. Every dog learns differently and you will be able to teach your dog how you see fit. Training is a blast for dogs becuase there is plenty of priase, treats, and toys involved. As your dog progresses in training, you can be proud of what you are accomplishing together.

What if I don't like my first practice?

There is no pressure to commit to the team right away. All new members are given 4 free practices to make sure flyball is right for you and your dog. If you decide not to do flyball, no big deal. We enjoy new members coming and trying it. If you do want to join, all new members must be voted in by the team at a meeting.

How much does this cost?

Your first four weeks are free!!! Afterwards, monthly dues are only $5 per dog (Wow, so inexpensive)! There is a one-time membership fee of $50.
